This was the week GTA 6 news finally broke a long quiet stretch, and it broke in two directions at once: the single largest soundtrack reveal Rockstar has given us, and a new leak that nobody asked for. With 40 days to the November 19 launch and 33 days to the November 12 preload, here is everything that actually happened between October 3 and October 10, separated from the recycled headlines.

The big one: six radio stations and the series' first podcasts

On October 8, Rockstar updated the official Grand Theft Auto VI site with the first six radio stations, their hosts, playable station audio previews, and three new downloadable screenshots. It is the most concrete music information we have ever had about this game.

The six:

StationGenreHosts (performers)
Cocoteo FMModern LatinEl Martillo and La Gata (Bad Bunny, RaiNao)
Back Country RadioCountryMW and Delta Dawne (Morgan Wallen, Lana Del Rey), plus Mud Dog Mike (Jeremy Dufrene)
AfroBank FMAfrican musicBurna and Palmsy (Burna Boy, DJ Palms Trax)
The Chamber 106.6MetalDJ Kerry and DJ Tom (Kerry King, Tom Araya of Slayer)
Flash FMPopRobyn and Alex (Robyn, Alex Consani)
Dirty South ClassicsSouthern rapTrick and Trina (Trick Daddy, Trina)

Two things matter more than the names. First, six is not the full dial. Rockstar's own copy describes a lineup "spanning stations dedicated to everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio," and neither a Classic Rock nor a Talk Radio station has been named. The total station count is still unannounced. For scale, GTA 5 launched with 16 stations plus self radio.

Second, every revealed station has two hosts. That is a real break from the series pattern of a single celebrity DJ, which gave us Kenny Loggins on Los Santos Rock Radio, Iggy Pop on Liberty Rock Radio, and Toni on the original 1986 Flash FM. We dug into what that format change implies in our piece on the radio host personas.

The same update confirmed a genuine series first: on-demand podcasts. Rockstar's wording was unambiguous, saying that "for the first time ever, Grand Theft Auto VI introduces a series of on-demand podcasts." It also confirmed that music and podcasts play on foot, not just in vehicles, through headphones connected to the in-game phone. No podcast title, host, count, or episode length has been announced. Our full breakdown is in on-demand podcasts explained.

Flash FM is the returning station, last heard in 1986 Vice City and Vice City Stories. Notably, Robyn appeared as an artist on GTA 5's Non-Stop-Pop FM and now hosts.

A new leak, and still no Rockstar response

Also on October 8, a roughly 25-minute single continuous video attributed to Cyberleek, the same leaker behind August's clip run, surfaced and was reviewed by Kotaku. Unlike August's 15 generic clips, this one reportedly contains story spoilers, which is why we are not detailing its contents.

Two leak-derived details are worth tracking, and both are unconfirmed by Rockstar:

The video also reportedly showed spawned vehicles and weapons, which indicates developer tools rather than a retail play session. As of today, Rockstar has not responded: no Newswire post, no statement, no store change. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise by recycling the August 26 Instagram statement, which was written about a different leak entirely.

Crucially, no delay is implied. Rockstar reaffirmed November 19 in its own October 8 radio post.

The Xbox cloud streaming row (October 6 to 7)

The week's other real beat was messier. On October 6, The Verge's Tom Warren reported that Xbox Cloud Gaming had secured exclusive streaming rights to GTA 6 at launch, and that this would make the game playable on PC via cloud streaming.

On October 7, Matthew Ball, Xbox Chief Strategy Officer, responded on X, saying the excitement had "led to some misreporting" and that the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC." The Verge subsequently issued a correction.

Read the denial precisely, because most coverage did not. Ball ruled out exactly two things: exclusivity and PC streaming. He did not rule out GTA 6 appearing on Xbox Cloud Gaming at all. So cloud availability in any form remains unconfirmed, and this is not a PC announcement in either direction. PC remains fully unannounced. Full detail in our Xbox cloud streaming denial coverage.

Worth pairing with it: Microsoft's monthly cloud hour caps start in November 2026 at 5, 10, and 15 hours depending on tier. Against a confirmed roughly 80 hour story, 15 hours a month is about five and a half months for the critical path alone.

The tribunal window is nearly closed

The Rockstar union tribunal in Glasgow, listed September 10 to October 15 or 16, produced no new ruling, hearing report, or statement this week. Searches return only the existing September coverage set. Six days left on the listed window.

Headlines to ignore

Three stories are circulating that contain nothing new:

  1. "Rockstar Confirms Next Official GTA 6 Update for October 5." This was the on-sale date for LOVE Magazine Issue 27, nothing more.
  2. "GTA 6 PC Version Gets Official Release Update." This recycles old Strauss Zelnick shareholder remarks.
  3. The October 21 "reveal" rumour, which traces back to 2022 and 2023 era hits and is dead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did Rockstar announce the full radio lineup?

No. Six stations were revealed and Rockstar's own copy points to unnamed Classic Rock and Talk Radio stations still to come. The total count has never been announced.

Has a tracklist been published?

No. Artists heard in the station previews are evidence for those snippets only, not for a confirmed tracklist.

Does the October leak change the release date?

No. Rockstar reaffirmed November 19, 2026 in its own October 8 post, published the same day the video surfaced.

Will GTA 6 be on Xbox Cloud Gaming?

Unconfirmed. Xbox denied exclusivity and PC streaming but did not address whether the game appears on the service at all.

The Bottom Line

The radio reveal is the week's real story, and it is a substantial one: six stations, 13 named personas, playable previews, confirmed on-demand podcasts, and confirmed on-foot listening. Everything else was either a leak Rockstar has pointedly ignored, a report that got corrected, or a recycled headline. With 40 days left, the pattern holds that Rockstar drips confirmed features through its own channels and says nothing about anything else.
